Academic discipline
Noun
An academic discipline or academic field is a subdivision of knowledge that is taught and researched at the college or university level.
Example: As a social science student, I study in the society and environment discipline.

Anthropology
Noun
The study of human societies and cultures and their development.The study of human biological and physiological characteristics and their evolution.
Example: I very much enjoyed studying human evolution through my anthropology class.

Awareness
Noun
The knowledge or perception of a situation or fact. The concern about and well-informed interest in a particular situation or development.
Example: Depression is very common when growing up, it is important that people are aware of that fact.

Behaviour

The way in which one acts or conducts oneself, especially toward others.
Example: Your behaviour was unacceptable last night!

Culture
Noun
Culture is a term which encompasses the social behavior and norms found in human societies, as well as the knowledge, beliefs, arts, laws, customs, capabilities, and habits of the individuals in these groups.
Example: Canada has a different culture than Australia.

The study of statistics such as births, deaths, income, or the incidence of disease, which illustrate the changing structure of human populations.

A social issue is a problem that influences many citizens within a society. It is a group of common problem in present-day society and one that many people strive to solve. It is often the consequence of factors extending beyond an individual's control.
